As stated in one of the April readings, the page of discs can be a person, situation or event.  Often this card represents a responsibility that comes with wisdom but yet a youthfulness that comes with age.  It can often be new opportunities that can increase prosperous options, adventure, career, resources and enthusiasm.  This card often refers to health in material matters as it is an earth card.

The Tower is a card that represents the tearing down of the walls that have been built and the falling of false impressions or understandings.  When the tower falls all of the misrepresentation that has been taking as fact goes with it and only truth will remain.  Although the tower is a hard card because it shows the destruction of previous perceived hard work, it also gives an opportunity to rebuild without the lies and untruths that previously have helped to fool or fuel situations.

The High Priest card represents inner wisdom and spiritual knowledge.  This card refers to the inner knowing that connects with divine energy and that makes life happen; not waiting for life to happen.  It is a power card that is spiritually enhanced and reminds us that we have the power and the connection with energy to choose how life will unfold.

As the past has been filled with newly found opportunities that have pushed people into what seemed like financial safety, we find that many are dealing with the fallen illusions of the state of the economy and how this directly effects the bank accounts of families everywhere.  Doing without and dealing with the destruction of the fallen tower can leave a period of despair and desperation as we all search for meaning and direction to move out of the current disaster.  The knowing of the High Priest is telling us to stay connected with our spiritual vision and understanding of the cycle of life; all things will die to make way for rebirth.  When we are reborn, we are able to start anew but with more knowledge and understanding than previously had.  This is the forward movement we have to continue to manifest into existence.  Rebuilding requires faith that things can be repaired by placing each brick in the new foundation to build a more sturdy tower on.

Stay moving forward and know that this too shall pass and rebirth is inevitable.

The five of discs is the card of restriction in earth matters, interestingly contradicting the previous card and showing a conflict in the present.   This card speaks to the loss of things in the material world and can often bring out the pain of losing things internally.  Since material things often reflect something we are wanting to project to others, a loss could create an almost confusion in one’s identity.  The five of discs points this out and warns of this inner conflict and turmoil.

The chariot shows the journey that takes place in life.  It is a card that shows the balancing and control of power to push towards the path in front of us.  It can signify those things that need to be evaluated inorder to assess where you are going, where you have been and what you need to harness to control your path.  It is a card of movement and one that shows balance as a key objective in growth.

These cards together show a history of opportunity that is in turmoil in the present.  Financial devastation has stripped many of us from the freedoms and enjoyments we once had and how are left to evaluate where this leaves us now.  Where are you going?  What do you want to do?  What do you have to control to get there?

The chariot is our reminder not to forget the sacrifice that is needed to control your path and work towards your desires.  As the economy recovers we have to be conscious of our forward movement and not take advantage of the opportunities.  In addition, this reading reminds us that we are not defined by our material things…. we define ourselves by what is inside and our integrity.  If you are not able to do this, you have a little time before we recover enough financially.  Take the opportunity to learn how to redefine yourself when you have nothing else to hide behind.

This reading shows a time of turmoil that is progressing through the stages.  The 10 of swords indicates harsh times and it is the card of “disillusion”.  In this card things are challenging and some of that is under the illusion that it is bigger or harder than it is in reality.  It is an air card and many times it can focus on the mental struggle of hardship.  This card was reversed in pull and can indicate that the illusion of the hard times is actually as it seems and is just as big as it appears to be.

The 6 of swords can many times refer to the small time of reprieve after the battle or the breath after the struggle.  It definately shows a time of struggle but it also shows a small sign of a break.  It is the time where you are learning to put the pieces back together and find ways to cope through your experience.

The Sun card is a growth card.  It shows the opportunity to grow beyond the circumstances and find the meaning in it.  It is a card that points to the potential that the sun can bring out of any situation.  In this reading the card is reversed, showing that the situation at hand is not one that has an easily identifiable meaning or purpose.  It is not about growth but more about coping with situations that are hard and unfair.  although any situation can create growth, not all situations actively promote it.

These three cards in the positions they are in are showing a rough process ahead that is going to include or has included struggle that is hard to link with purpose.  Although you may be at a time of reprieve and the situation has passed, it is hard to find purpose and meaning when things are so fragmented and without order.  If this relates with a situation you may be dealing with, as it does for me, take the time you need to recover before trying to understand.  If you are attempting to push towards understanding, you may  not be able to find what you would like to inorder to move forward.  Sometimes life is not about understanding and is more about coping.  As a close friend and fellow counselor says all the time, “understanding is just the booby prize”.  It is nice to understand and be able to rationalize all that is going on in your life but it is not always possible in every moment.  Sometimes we have to move forward with the act of living and let the rest fall where it may.
